H2o Together…..thirst no more..(and get a free song!)

•January 13, 2010 • 11 Comments

I’ve been sitting here for the last 15 minutes trying to figure out how to start off this post…not because I want to be clever and creative, but because this story means SO MUCH to me.

This story moves me. It makes me proud. It fires me up. It fills me with joy…..it re-energizes me.

This past week (1/10/10) many of you may have noticed a different drummer than normal at TNC. His name is Kameron Waters. God placed Kameron in my path about 4 years ago when he played drums for me in the Element band. We have since become lifelong friends, and I have found myself in numerous deep and loooooong conversations with the guy. Not to sound cliche to where this post is headed, but I immediately saw a guy who was THIRSTY for what God had in store for his life……

One night Kameron and I stayed after band practice and had a heartfelt discussion about how…and when…God can use us for His plan. Kameron wanted to so much to do something big FOR GOD, but felt that as just a drummer, he was limited in his ministry capabilities. I asked him what was probably running through Davids mind as he went up against Goliath……

The wheels have been turning ever since.

I want to say this about Kameron. God has his hand on the back of that man….and He is leading him to achieve some great things. I look back out our initial relationship and considered myself as somewhat of a mentor to Kameron. However, after seeing the trust that he has placed in God….the steps into uncertainty yet faith….I’m starting to see that God has used Kameron to mentor me!

Ok, so where is this all leading? (I just wanted to give you a little background on the guy before I share what he is up to.) Please visit H20 Together (<-click that link) and read about Kamerons plight to combat the water problem in the world. While you are at it, skip down and read about the song he wrote with Erwin McManus‘ daughter, Mariah McManus. It is available on iTunes for $.99. As you will read in his story, money from every song purchased goes directly to his cause for clean water.

I really believe in what Kameron is doing here. If you leave your name and email address in the comment section, I will send a code to the first 100 people to download this from iTunes…..FOR FREE. Spread the word. Make a difference for LESS THAN A DOLLAR!

The song is called Way You Pick Me Up.

It is INCREDIBLE.

Work In Progress

•January 11, 2010 • Leave a Comment

This site will be a work in progress for the next few days.  I want this to be a place to share music, to spotlight the musicians that I am privileged to work with, and to be able to discuss all other sorts of stuff….(gear, local music, local ministries, etc, etc)

I will try to put up AT LEAST one MP3 each week from TNC and one musician spotlight.

Don’t hold anyone but me accountable for anything you read here…..
